General Job Duties:
The City Clerk is responsible for the collection of fines, fees, and State costs; filing citations/complaints; court scheduling; issuing, tracking and clearing warrants; maintaining court records and reporting collections, conviction and statistical data to appropriate State Agencies.
The Municipal Court Clerk duties include the overall coordination and operations of the Municipal Court. The Clerk will perform a broad range of clerical and administrative duties.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Communicate professionally and courteously with the Judge, Prosecutor, other employees and the public.
Perform duties related to Municipal Court activities in compliance with state/local laws and city policies to include implementation of legislative and court cost changes.
Provide assistance and respond to public inquiries regarding court procedures, trial dates, warrants, subpoenas, and fines within the scope of authority.
Assist the warrant division in maintaining warrant integrity.
Maintain and prepare monthly reports for State statistical reports and Quarterly Court Costs.
Collect fines and fees, issue receipts, post appropriately, deposit monies on a daily basis.
Prepare Court docket for upcoming court cases ensuring all materials are accurate and complete.
Assisting the Judge and Prosecutor on court dates.
Assist City Secretary and Utility Clerk.
Municipal Court Duties Include:
Prepare and process legal documents, correspondence, motions, orders ensuring accuracy.
All other duties related to the Municipal Court.
General supervision is provided by the City Secretary.
Required Computer Skills: Proficient in Hill Country Software for Municipal Courts, Microsoft Word and Excel, email and internet.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas Driver s License with acceptable driving record.
