Job Description
CNC Machinist - Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Read and interpret customer specifications and their requirements.
Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads. Programs mills by entering instructions.
Verifies and maintains settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Accomplishes organization goals, by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent with an understanding of basic math principles.
Some working knowledge in sheet metal fabrication with 2-5 years experience in related field.
Able to: Read English. Receive constructive criticism. Basic usage of measuring devices such as Caliper, Micrometer, etc. Multi-task and take on new projects in a fast-paced environment. Follow specific detail tight tolerances of aerospace industry.
Set up some equipment without assistance, work with minimal supervisoin, follow router sequences and preform sequence operation in a timely manner and change speeds with workload demand.
Preferred:
Previous aerospace experience preferred.
Some experience in outside process and procedure related to fabrication.
