Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintenance Electrical position within a manufacturing environment. Under general supervision, maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls. Support all production and physical plant equipment in the facility.
Responsibilities
1. Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.
2. Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with operation’s requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
3. Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
4. Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or new material required and develop a logical approach to correct the problem.
5. Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
6. Dismantle, inspect and replace electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts
7. Lays-out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
8. Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments
9. Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
10. Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.
11. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
12. Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
13. Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
14. Promote and comply with good safety practices and habits, including but not limited to, use of all PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Technical or professional certification strongly preferred and/or completion of an appropriate apprenticeship program.
Experience:
3+ years experience and/or equivalent electrician training in industrial high voltage electrical maintenance.

Must Have
- Ability to install and maintain electrical systems and controls.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
- Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested
- Must have completed a minimum of the following courses from an accredited and approved educational source or demonstrated knowledge and skill acquired via sufficient job experience: Basic Electrical Safety, Basic Industrial Safety, AC Circuits and Machinery, DC Circuits and Machinery, Electrical Troubleshooting, National Electrical Code
- Must submit pre-placement background check
- Occasional climbing/balancing
- PLC and controls knowledge a plus
- Requires continuous standing and frequent lifting/carrying, stooping/bending/squatting/pulling/pushing, twisting of the trunk and neck, reaching and grasping/squeezing
