The Payroll/Bookkeeping Clerk is responsible for compiling data according to Company policy and in accordance with government regulations and applicable tax codes. This role will also assist in coordinating all payroll-related activities in the processing of employee hours, to include problem resolution, process improvement, records management, and customer service.
Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts.
Record financial transaction detail to client books.
Review General Ledger for accuracy.
Reconcile and balance all accounts.
Prepare quarterly reports 940, 941 and TWC.
Complete data entry and processing of payrolls within the scheduled deadlines.
Prepare checks and payments.
Prepare and process payroll.
Comply with relevant reporting requirements.
Calculate and prepare payroll tax payments.
Maintain complete filing system to support financial records.
Education and Experience
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices.
One year of experience processing payroll and bookkeeping preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
Working knowledge of relevant computer applications, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office.
